Christie Clinic Expands to Arthur, Charles Ellington, MD Joins Department of Family Medicine

Christie Clinic has expanded to Arthur with the addition of Dr. Charles Ellington to the Department of Family Medicine at 650 W. Columbia Street. Dr. Ellington provides comprehensive care for a wide range of acute and chronic care services to family members of all ages, from newborns to geriatric patients. Care is centered on family and our physicians work in partnership with you to maintain wellness through patient education, appropriate screenings and regular checkups.

Dr. Ellington earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois in Urbana, IL and attended Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, IL. His residency in family and community medicine was completed at Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur, IL and his fellowship was completed at Georgetown University and the Robert Graham Center in Washington, DC. He is a member of the AMA, Illinois State Medical Society, American Academy of Family Physicians and is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Christie Clinic welcomes Nathan Roberts, MD, to the Department of Family Medicine. Christie Clinic is pleased to announce the return of Dr. Aasma Ahmed to the Department of Family Medicine located at 1801 West Windsor Road in Champaign. In the Department of Family Medicine, Dr. Ahmed treats non-surgical illnesses or disorders from infancy through adulthood and promotes wellness care for patients of all ages.

Dr. Ahmed received her medical degree from King Edward Medical University in Lahore, Pakistan and completed her residency at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, New Jersey. She is board certified and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

The Department of Family Medicine welcomes Jessie Hemric, PA-C, to Christie Clinic in Danville on Vermilion.

Hemric completed her undergraduate degree in Biology from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA and continued her professional education by completing her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Elon University in Elon, NC. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and licensed by the state of Illinois. Hemric has experience in clinical rotations in a variety of departments including but not limited to adult primary care, inpatient medicine, pediatrics and surgery.

Christie Clinic welcomes Dr. Francis Lee to the Department of Family Medicine located at Christie Clinic on Windsor Road in Champaign. Christie Clinic’s Department of Family Medicine offers a wide range of acute and chronic care services to family members of all ages, from newborns to geriatric patients.

Dr. Lee graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Urbana-Champaign and completed an Internal Medicine Internship at University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria, and a Family Medicine Residency at MacNeal Hospital in Chicago.

Dr. Lee is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, American College of Physicians, and Christian Medical and Dental Association. Languages spoken include English, Spanish and Korean.

Christie Clinic adds Dr. Khalid Waheed to the Department of Family Medicine located at Christie Clinic on Windsor at 1801 West Windsor Road in Champaign. Dr. Waheed earned his medical degree from Deccan College of Medical Sciences. He also earned a Masters of Public Health from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. He was a resident in family medicine at North Oakland Medical Centers/Doctors’ Hospital of Michigan. Dr. Waheed is Board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, and is also a certified DOT Examiner.

Christie Clinic Expands Family Medicine in Rantoul

Christie Clinic is pleased to announce Mitch Hammel, MD and Sheila Schmitz, RN, CS, MSN will expand their services and join Dr. Jo Ann Archey in the Department of Family Medicine. Beginning in January, Dr. Hammel and Schmitz will see patients at Christie Clinic in Rantoul located at 209 West Borman Drive. Dr. Hammel will continue seeing patients at Christie Clinic in Monticello and Schmitz will continue seeing patients at Christie Clinic on Windsor.

As a physician in the Department of Family Medicine, Dr. Hammel diagnoses and treats non-surgical illnesses or disorders from infancy through adulthood and promotes wellness care for patients of all ages.

As a nurse practitioner in the Department of Family Medicine, Schmitz works in collaboration with physicians to provide primary health care to both adults and children. Women’s health, pediatrics and diabetes mellitus are among her special medical interests.
